Hair to “Dry” For
Posted on Jun 25, 10
Balayage – the latest haircolor craze to “sweep” the nation – is all about emphasizing hair’s natural movement. So it goes without saying that the stylists at New Attitude Salon know how to maximize this movement through our haircuts.
What is Bayalage? The innovative technique called Balayage, is a French term for hair painting. This freehand placement of highlights, without the use of foils, allows for a more natural color application that complements and contrasts in all the right places.
When creating a cut on a Balayage cleint, New Attitude recommends a dry cut. First, we shampoo and condition the hair, then blow dry with a finger tousle for straight hair (or a diffuser for curly hair) to enhance the hair’s natural texture. Believe it or not, we want to enhance your natural cowlicks, swirls and parting patterns to judge where the natural weight falls. A Bayalage highlight works with the hair’s natural movement not against it. Dry cutting is an excellent way to find details in the hair’s texture and complements the Bayalage look to a tee.
