Scruff and Tumble….This one is for the Guys!

From peach fuzz to a 5 o’clock shadow to full-grown face fur, Hollywood’s leading male celebs are stashing their beard trimmers and getting in touch with their natural side. Celebrity stylist Diana Schmidtke says “Guys, if you’re going to grow out your beard, keep from looking like a member of ZZ Top by scheduling regular trims with your Salon”. It’s very simple to maintain a great looking beard, by using clippers, beard trimmers or a shear-over-comb technique. The latter might take a little bit longer, but the ability to maintain more control when thinning out or designing a beard keeps it looking its best.
At New Attitude, our Stylists are trained on trimming beards and treat them as we would a haircut. Did you know your beard should be symmetrical to the face and have a clean line both near the top of the cheek bones and below on the neckline?
Don’t get mistaken for Grizzly Adams this Winter! Remember, it’s equally important to maintain your beard with your haircut. Lots of guys rocked beards at the Golden Globes, but they all had very clean, groomed hair. Think hunks Jon Hamm and Gerard Butler. “If a guy has both an unkempt beard AND unkempt hair, he can look very undone and give off the worng impression, ” says Diana, (Ahem….clean it up, Brad Pitt!)
One last tip, make sure your haircut is proportionate with your beard. The last thing you want is a thick beard with a super short haircut! Balance is the key to pulling off great-looking facial hair!
Remember, our Stylists are available for regular beard trimming appointments which can be scheduled at the time of your haircut!
